Prerana Scholarship

Prerana Scholarship is a post-matric scholarship portal implemented by the ST & SC Development and Minority & Other Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. Started with the main objective to give financial assistance to economically weaker students of the state, PRERANA aims to ease the processes related to scholarship applications and timely payment of scholarship amount to eligible students’ bank account.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha
  • The applicant’s annual family income must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh.
  • The applicant must be continuing his/her post-matriculation studies in any of the courses mentioned under Group I, II, III & IV.
    Group I: Graduate/Postgraduate level courses in engineering, medical, agriculture and veterinary. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) course, PG diploma course in management & medicine, courses related to Accountancy M.Phil., Ph.D. and postdoctoral programme (D. Lit, D.Sc. etc), LLM
    Group II: Graduate/Postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma certification areas like pharmacy, nursing, paramedical, LLB, mass communication, hotel management, interior decoration, etc. PG courses like MA, M.Sc., M.Com., M.Ed., M.Pharma, etc.
    Group III: +3 courses
    Group IV: +2, ITI, 3-year diploma & 2 years vocational courses
  • The applicant must be studying in a government or government-recognised private institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The student must be a permanent resident of state of Odisha
  • The income of the oarents of the studentfrom all sources shall not exceed Rs. 6.0 lakhs per annum.
  • The student must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examinations for different categories of merits.
  • Students shall apply for medhabruti onl in the year of joining(1st year of the course)

Scholarship Types, Amount and Eligibility:

3 Tech. & Prof. Merit Must have passed +2 of CHSE/CBSE/ICSE/Equivalent exam or +3 degree/equivalent 2/3 year course(only for MBA/MCA/MFC/MSW) with 60% or more marks and pursuing regular technical and professional courses in the colleges/institutions recognized by respective regulatory authorities. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student must be of Jharkhand State.
  • Student must be either Schedule Tribe (ST) or Schedule Caste (SC) or Backward Class (BC).
  • Students Annual Family Income from all sources should not exceed as per the list given below.
    • Schedule Tribe (ST) or Schedule Caste (SC) Rs. 2,50,000/-(Rupees Two lakhs Fifty thousand only)
    • Backward Class (BC) Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One lac Fifty thousand only)

National Scholarship Portal(NSP) is a universal solution for the students aspiring for various scholarship schemes. Students and Parents are highly advised to make use of NSP for availing any scholarship schemes and make the best utilization of services available through it.

Mission of NSP

The Mission Mode Project (MMP) of National Scholarships Portal under the National e-Governance Plan aims at providing common electronic portal for implementing various Scholarships schemes launched by Union Government, State Government and Union Territories across the country.

  • Provide a common portal for various Scholarships schemes of Central and State Governments
  • Create a transparent database of scholars
  • Avoid duplication in processing
